March is my F•A•V•O•R•I•T•E month! It’s filled with family birthdays, the first signs of spring, and of course, the very best holiday of the year…St. Patrick’s Day!
I’m here today to share a few of my favorite March activities, books and freebies for this fabulous month!
Class Books are a wild favorite these days in the classroom {I’ve even had to implement a system for who can read our latest book first!} These are a quick and easy to activity to leave for a sub or even as a Daily 5 writing idea!
St. Patrick’s Day
I love these adorable Fraction Leprechauns from Growing Firsties! Head on over and grab this freebie from sweet Lisa!
Last year we wrote about how Lucky we are and a poem about the colors of the rainbow. Projects for St. Patrick’s Day just make the classroom so cheerful, don’t you think?
I absolutely LOVE the Directed Drawings from Jennifer from First Grade Blue Skies. She shares super simple directions for those of us who are not artistic to lead our class in some art that is worthy of hanging in the classroom! How cute are these leprechauns? You can grab her directions {here}
Instead of drawing a Leprechaun, what about growing a Leprechaun with hair! These little guys just crack me up! You can find the green plastic cups at the Dollar Tree!
As I shared over in the Book Mark It Post for March, you can never go wrong with How-To writing! Kids love to spin tales about how they would catch a leprechaun…and just what they would do if they actually collected all of that gold! Grab the FREEBIE and get your kiddos writing!
And because it’s my absolute favorite holiday, I had a hard time limiting my book selections!
Of course anything by Tomie De Paola is great but these three are my favorite:

With Easter a little bit earlier this year, I had to pull out my file of fun!
