Everyone Has an Opinion!

One thing about little kids is that you always know where you stand – they tell you what they like and what they don’t…even when you don’t ask!

So I decided…why not allow them to share their opinion BUT make them write it! They feel like they’re getting their voices heard…and I’m sneaking in some writing. Win-win, right?

What I quickly realized is that while kids have opinions, they don’t always know how to frame those opinions in writing!

To make it easier, we’ve started using Would You Rather? Writing Prompts to get the ideas flowing. Each prompt asks a simple question and gives students a small amount of space to write.

It’s been fun to walk around the classroom as they write and listen to their conversations.

Kids are starting to “debate” their reasons {most importantly, backing it up with their reasons!}Want to snag these no-prep & printable writing prompts for your classroom? Check ’em out below!
