I love books! I know I’m not alone, right? I think I get more excited about the Scholastic Book Order than most of the kids! Recently, I took a trip to my local bookshop to check out the latest & greatest books! You guys…I walked out with 11 new books!
So, I thought it would be fun to share a new book each month, along with a lesson idea to go along with it!
Since Groundhog Day is just around the corner {and it always seems to sneak up on me!} I thought I would share an adorable book I bought and a craftivity to go wtih it! Have you seen Groundhog’s Day Off?
It’s an adorable story about a Groundhog who is fed up with people just visiting him on February 2nd to find out if he sees his shadow or not! He wishes the reporters and looky-loos would ask him a few personal questions about himself – not just about his prediction! So, he takes a much-needed vacation just before February 2nd rolls around. The town scrambles to find a replacement for Groundhog – and it’s not as easy as they imagine!
To extend this lesson, whip up these adorable Groundhogs!
Their mouths are actually made of clothespins so they’ll hold some work!
Slainte!
