Like many primary classes, we make A LOT of books in my classroom! The kids create Marvelous Me Books, non-fiction books, stories, How-To books, and S.L.A.M Books {Okay, well not S.L.A.M. books but wouldn’t that be something to read!?}
I’ve always used my handy dandy stapler to put those books together. Or, when I was really brave {or needed to fancy up a book for Open House!}, I would use our 25 year old binding machine…which I always got into a fight with…and never won!
For our special Writer’s Workshop stories, I thought it would be really cool to actually publish students’ books through a company…until I saw the prices! Really $20 a book? I love these kids and all, but is their work worth $20 a pop!?
A few posts ago, I mentioned that I traveled to Atlanta for the EdExpo. While I was there, I met two amazing men from Premier Binding, Jay & Art!

Their Book Creator is seriously going to make you throw your annoying plastic combs out FOREVER! This machine uses heat to bind books…in 90 seconds! Are you impressed yet? Keep reading to find out just how easy {and cost-effective!} it is to use!
I was giddy the day my machine arrived!
To get started, you simply plug it in. No need to wait for it to warm up – it’s ready to go!
The first thing I created using the book creator was our Marvelous Me Books for Open House at the end of April.
Here’s where the tricky part comes in. You neatly stack up your pages, tuck them all into cover and place onto the book creator. Did you catch my sarcasm there? Seriously, that’s all.
Your book sits patiently for 90 seconds and a green light lets you know it’s ready!
How amazing are these? Now, kids have published books AND they cost a little over a $1!
There are a variety of covers to choose from {hardback, clear metal, etc} You can see them all {HERE}
My niece and nephew caught wind that I had a book maker and suddenly, everything needed to be turned into a book!Emma is currently writing a series of books. Here’s a peek at her front cover.
And here’s here back cover. How cute is she?
My nephew Sean insisted his Animal Report should be put into one of the hardback books.
It took the same quick 90 seconds…
And his beautiful report turned into a “Real book!” according to him.
Honestly the smile on his face was priceless when he saw what his hard work turned into!
You could make memory books, class books, alphabet books – the possibilities are endless with this machine!
Interested in a Book Creator for yourself? You can snag the machine in my TpT Store!
Supplies are also there, too!
Happy Book Making!
