Another busy week – we’re just packin’ in all we can before the end of the year!

We finished up our US Symbols Unit by discussing the Liberty Bell. We followed up the discussion with torn art bells.  To make it a bit easier, I photocopied the outline of the bell and they filled it in. I love how they turned out!

Next up…Mount Rushmore! To extend our chat about Mt. Rushmore, the students made their very own landmark.  The only guideline for this project was that they had to choose four people who were either important to them or to our country.  Then, they named their landmark.

Here are two of my favorites

Mount Liberty

She added her moms, me and the Statue of Liberty

Mount USA Eagle 50

I love how thoughtful this boy was: police, “a US Army”, me, and Santa!

To finish up this unit, we watched the Pups of Liberty: The Boston Tea-Bone Party.  This is a super cute kid-friendly explanation of the Boston Tea Party. This DVD was sent to me free from Izzit.  Check ’em out to grab your own!

    1. Thanks! They were fun to check out as the kids finished. Funny to see who they think is important! Thankfully, I made a lot of mountains 🙂

  1. Did you create your landmark craftivities? I am always looking for more USA products and just wondering if you have a product on TpT? I think you have wonderful ideas and just became your newest follower!

    1. Hi Tina! Thank you so much! I created the two from this week's posts, but for the previous Friday's post, I used Deanna Jump's America unit. Hope you're having a great weekend!
