Open House Ideas

Open House is an awesome time to throw open our classroom doors and share our learning with parents, friends, and schoolmates!

Here’s a peek at a few of my favorite ideas to spruce up our classroom!

One of my favorite things we do each year for Open House is our Welcome signs.

I work in an area where we are lucky to have many different languages spoken at home. To celebrate that, each year I send home a small piece of construction paper and the letter below. Click the picture to snag this freebie!

It’s always fun to see how these signs turn out each year!

We watercolored these awesome owls. I always love how unique directed drawings turn out! I could stare at these adorable owls all day!

You can check out the endless tutorials over on Pinterest & pick your favorite!

We made the super cute Explorer Kids again this year from Buzzing About Second Grade.  The kids each chose an animal to research and write a report about.  These little people just crack me up!

I mentioned a few weeks ago that we do an Eric Carle art project each year.  I absolutely LOVE how they turn out each year.  You can read step-by-step directions of how to create this amazing art HERE!

For some fun writing, I gave the kids the beginning of common idioms. It was hilarious to read their responses!

You can find the Idioms inside Grab Bag Galore {along with TONS of other random goodies!}

Slainte!
